I learned to love poetry because I first loved music. To honor this love and the power of oral tradition, I practice storytelling through performance and hosting events.

cap has engaged audiences with her heartfelt performances in venues and platforms including Dodge Poetry Festival, Carnegie Hall's Nuestros Sonidos, Bronx Music Hall, off-Broadway Triad Theater, NJPAC, and Montclair Art Museum. She is honored to have been the opening act for  The Mona Passage, Kerry Washington, and MC Lyte, and currently hosts the Nuyorican Poets Cafe's Twilight Hour Open Mic.
