Claudia “cap” is a Latina creative, truth seeker, educator, and Bronx, New York native. She began writing poems as a young child, inspired by her parents’ dreams becoming reality. She since has used poetry to express emotion, heal traumas, and inspire others to do the same. Currently, cap is guiding writers through the publication process and teaching fixed-form poetry writing workshops. She continues to share her poetry and experiences through social media, open mic events, and public speaking events.

Stories: Poems I Wrote While Turning Pain Into Hope
How many of your own stories have you forgotten? How many of those forgotten stories were forgotten on purpose? When was the last time you shared a story that brings you pain?
Stories: Poems I Wrote While Turning Pain Into Hope is an ode to the taboo parts of healing. The part of healing that hurts. The part of healing that requires you to share the stories you wish to forget. The part of healing that says "maybe someone needs to hear your forgotten story in order to heal their own."
In this poetry chapbook, cap uses imagery, personification, and “raw, unfiltered emotion” to take readers on a journey through growing pains, mourning the loss of her mother, and healing a heartbreak. Each chapter is prefaced, giving insight to the tone of the pieces, and adorned by all-original illustrations. A select few of the illustrations are available for purchase as stickers.

Note from the author: Thank you for being here with me! As I'm sure you got from the description, this book hurts so good. Although the idea of my words being out in the world is terrifying, I'm happy to be sharing them with you.
